In 1988 Wan, F., et al., published a study according to which both animals and humans who consumed cordyceps mushroom were able to increase their natural sex hormones.
A year before , Huang Y, et al., demonstrated improvements in fertility simply by taking cordyceps. In fact, men’s sperm count increased as much as 300%.
Cordyceps shown to boost sperm count and boost sexual libido
Wan’s study included 189 men and women with decreased libido and sexual desire. Patients showed marked improvement of various symptoms and 66% of patients reported increased desire for sex. This is great news if cordyceps can help men with erectile dysfunction.
Another double-blind study demonstrated similar results of cordyceps use with a 33% increase in sperm count and about 79% increase in sperm survival after eight weeks of supplementation (Guo Y, 1986).
Both male and female patients reported sexual arousal and increased blood flow to the genitalia. The cordyceps supplementation produced vaginal secretions and male erection usually within 1-4 hours, together with increased sexual thoughts and fantasies.
In addition, orgasms and stamina during intercourse – with no side effects – was common.
While we are discouraging the use of great pharmaceutical products ranging from Viagra to Cialis, cordyceps mushrooms have long been considered aphrodisiac by Asian cultures – long before our modern day erectile dysfunction medicine went mainstream!
